GOLDEN FRIENDSHIP

This is a post that should have been done in November but I am afraid I missed it.  I apologize to Christine Butler and her friends - I must be slipping!  Each and every friendship is precious and deserves celebrating and this is a very special friendship and worthy indeed of celebrating. 

The friendship between this group of St Patrick's girls blossomed in Grade three and it has survived the ups and downs of life ever since.  The ladies regularly get together to celebrate that friendship.  They all graduated from St Patrick's in the School Year of 1973/74. On the 9  November 2023 they gathered at the Royal Yacht Club in Manuels to celebrate the amazing Golden Anniversary of their graduation together. 

Christine and Terri have sent a photo of that happy day  and I am pleased to post it below.

50th ANNIVERSARY REUNION

Looking at this group of lovely ladies, who would ever think that 50 years have slipped by? Well, we have it on good authority that they really have!  In true St Patrick's Convent fashion, the girls still keep in touch and cherish the friendships that they made in those carefree school days.  

50th ANNIVERSARY REUNION

Christine Mary Butler, who sent us the photo, told us that they had their 50th Anniversary gathering of their Grade 3 Class (1967-68) on Sunday, 10 June 2018.  They had an "awesome time"  and are eagerly anticipating their next meeting in 2019.

Well done ladies and thank you Christine.  It is always so good to hear from you and to keep up to date with your group's activities.

GETTING TOGETHER AGAIN

I apologise for the delay in reporting these two get-togethers.  There are several reasons for my tardiness, i.e holidays and computer problems!  

Both gatherings took place in May and we are really happy to post them here today.

The first photo is from Joan Reynolds Fogarty. Joan and her classmates are still meeting several times a year for a meal and a chat.  This group of ladies is remarkable in their lasting friendship and loyalty to one another. This get-together took place on 15th May at Milestones.

Joan said they had a wonderful time and they plan to meet up again in September. We will be waiting for news of it, Joan.  

The next photo is from Christine Mary Butler.  Christine has sent us a photo of the fourth annual gathering of the Grade 3 Class of 1967/68. This gathering took place on 28th May at Smitty's Restaurant in Mt Pearl. Christine said it was an awesome afternoon!  She also tells us that plans are in hand for next year's big 50th Anniversary reunion. THIRD ANNUAL GATHERING

Thanks to Christine Mary Butler, we have news of a recent gathering of St Patrick’s Girls. 

On 29^th May the ladies held their third annual gathering of Mrs Ann Coady’s Grade 3 Class of 1967/68.  Judy Ann hosted the event, which began at 2 pm, at her home on Waterford Bridge Road.

These girls are well organised as they have already set the date for their next gathering, which will take place on 27^th May 2017.  Not only that, they have confirmed dates for their 50^th Anniversary!  This very special event will take place on 7-8^th June 2018.  They also warmly invite ANY St Patrick’s Grade 9 Graduates of 1973/74.  ANYONE who was a Grade 3 pupil of St Patrick’s Convent in 1967/68 is also very welcome to attend.
