ReplyDeleteOh, Mrs. Pennell's grade 5 class, my favourite school days were my ones spent at St. Patrick's Convent School. Had many giggles there in spite of glasses too big for my face and puberty! I made my life long friends at St. Patrick's...Kim Bertrand (nee) Denine, Karen Moakler (nee) Beer and Janet Blackmore (nee) Worthman and I still keep in touch with these fabulous ladies after all these years. Thank you for posting the picture Aunt Beth Anne & also checked you out Shelly in Mrs. Meaney's grade 7 class, I thought you were so grown up then compared to me, 2 years is such a gap at that age.
ReplyDeleteHi baygirl32
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear from you. I love your blog. All those great Newfoundland words deserve to be shared with the rest of the world and you are doing a grand job of that. Keep it up!
Hi Paula
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking the time to leave a comment. I agree with you, school days at St Patrick's were very, very special. I look back with fondness on my time there and the great girls who were my classmates and school friends. Like you, my friends from then are still my dearest friends today.
I remember all of these faces. I was in Grade 6 that yr. Best years of your life!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda
ReplyDeleteThanks for getting in touch. You are so right -they are the best years of our life but we don't appreciate them at the time.
If you have any photos, memories, stories, etc, please e-mail them to me. Even if you just want to say hello to your former classmates, I will post that too.
Take care & please look in again soon.
Wow this is a blast from the past. I'm Pam, second row next to Mrs. Pennell.
ReplyDeleteHi Pam
DeleteGreat to hear from you. I am glad you enjoyed the trip down memory lane. If you have any pictures or stories, etc, about your days at St Patrick's I would love to share them on this blog.
Take care & HAPPY ST PATRICK'S DAY!
Hi BethAnne , This is Patsy Whiffen Bennett .Just read through the Obituary list .I have 1 I want to add to the list. My sister Judy Whiffen Fitzgerald passed away June 26,2005 .
ReplyDeleteHi Patsy. It is so great to hear from you. It is years since we last saw each other. Do you still live in Newfoundland? I have been away for 46 years now, but I still miss home so very much. I didn't know about Judy. I am so sorry to learn that she has passed away. i remember her well. Remember how Miss Murphy managed to squeeze us all into her car? No seat belts or strict regulations in those days. I will add Judy's name to the list in the sidebar. If you know of anyone else that I have omitted, please let me know. You can contact me at mcallistersmith@gmail.com. Take care of yourself, keep safe and stay well. God bless you dear Patsy.
